About the Role
The Light Academy of Florida is looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Teacher Aid to join our team. This position will support classroom teachers in providing high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will assist with student instruction, support differentiated learning, and engage in extracurricular activities aimed at enhancing students’ personal growth.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Support the instruction of students as outlined in the Employee Handbook and under the guidance of classroom teachers.
Participate in differentiated instruction activities to meet the diverse learning needs of students, as directed by the classroom teacher.
Facilitate extracurricular activities in collaboration with the Self-Awareness/Humanity Teacher, contributing to the social and emotional development of students.
Assist in maintaining a structured and inclusive classroom environment.
Provide individual or small group support to students as needed to reinforce learning objectives.
Help monitor and support student behavior in accordance with school policies.
Assist with preparing classroom materials and organizing resources for lessons.
Act as a substitute teacher when needed in the event of teacher absence, following lesson plans and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Perform additional tasks and directives as assigned by school administrators to support the school’s operational needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in education or child development preferred.
Previous experience working with children in an educational or extracurricular setting is a plus.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively with classroom teachers.
Commitment to supporting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Interest in contributing to the personal and social development of students through extracurricular engagement.
Benefits:
Competitive hourly compensation for this position ranges from $17/hr - $21/hr.
